Role
Independently manages project, construction, and financial accounting for selected companies, acting as the central commercial interface between Accounting, Project Management, and Finance leadership
Responsibilities
The Senior Project Accountant supports the Head of Accounting in the financial management and oversight of Primus Immobilien AG and all its companies and project entities. Responsibilities include in particular:
- Independent management of project, property, and financial accounting for selected companies, particularly in the construction and real estate environment
- Responsibility for ongoing financial accounting, including accounts payable and receivable
- Reviewing, coding, and posting complex business transactions, especially construction, project, and development costs
- Reconciling, maintaining, and analyzing project- and company-related accounts
- Independently creating, managing, monitoring, and analyzing project budgets in close collaboration with Controlling and Project Management
- Ongoing monitoring of project costs and conducting target/actual comparisons
- Analyzing budget and cost variances, and identifying financial risks and optimization potential
- Preparing accounting- and project-specific financial, project, and cash flow reports for the CFO, management, and project leadership
- Leading involvement in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under German GAAP (HGB)
- Audit-proof handling of construction and project accounting, including provisions, accruals, and capitalization of construction and production costs
- Preparing, compiling, and quality-assuring all documentation for tax advisors, auditors, and external partners
- Coordinating accounting, valuation, and closing matters with the Head of Accounting and the CFO
- Ensuring compliance with commercial and tax law requirements as well as internal policies, processes, and compliance standards
- Careful documentation of all accounting, project-related, and closing-specific processes
- Supporting financial and tax audits in coordination with the Head of Accounting, as and when required
- Working closely with project managers as the commercial point of contact for project-related questions
- Acting as a sparring partner for the Head of Accounting and CFO on project, cost, and closing-related topics
- Actively contributing to the further development, optimization, and standardization of accounting, project, and closing processes

- Strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a high degree of initiative
- Analytical, goal-oriented thinking and an independent, results-driven working style, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members
Qualifications
- Completed degree in business administration, accounting, finance, real estate management, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of solid professional experience in accounting or project controlling in a leadership role, ideally in the real estate industry (solid knowledge of real estate financing and project cost accounting)
- Proven experience with financing models as well as project-related budgeting and cost control at a senior level
- Confident, skilled use of MS Office, especially Excel; solid experience with accounting/ERP systems
- Solid DATEV knowledge is a plus
- Very good written and spoken German, and good English skills
